• Children of prisoners are 6 – 8 times more likely to become incarcerated themselves.
• 78% of inmates claim to have had a relative in prison and 1 in 40 children in America have an incarcerated parent
• The national recidivism rate is about 75%.
• The prison population has more than doubled in the past 10 years.
• There are at least 2.5 million children in this country who have incarcerated parents.

Incarceration affects everyone!! The cost is high, not just economically, but emotionally, physically and spiritually as well. Those who have loved ones who are incarcerated often bear the brunt of the cost, with little to no support from those around them.
